USPS & FedEx Shipping Information

Please note that we have chosen FEDEX as our carrier of choice for all of our larger goods, because of superior on-time reliability, and outstandingly low loss / damage rates.   We normally source various shipping options, including USPS Priority mail, to determine the most economical option for our customer. USPS priority mail flat-rate boxes are normally the best shipping option on small goods.

Because of our mix of products, (many are 8 foot long "oversize" goods, which have shipping costs dramatically affected by the customer's cutting instructions, many items are extremely delicate such as vacuum capacitors, many are tiny and light, and we ship worldwide) there is no possible way for our order form to compute shipping charges at the time the order is entered. It is our policy to reply with shipping costs and options any time the customer's order contains any "oversize" items. We do not ship these items until we make certain that our customers are aware of their shipping costs and options available to them. Note:  If you are a repeat customer ordering oversize items, or are otherwise aware of these "oversize" charges, you may speed your order by mentioning the fact that you are aware of oversize shipping costs in "comments" section of the online order form.  In that case, your order is filled immediately without the additional exchange of emails.

To compute shipping charges, figure TOTAL WEIGHT of merchandise ordered (weights per piece are shown on chart on Fiberglass Price List page) and ADD 3 LBS for packaging. Remember...because many of our products are very long, FedEx "over size" and "additional handling" charges may apply! Full 8 foot length products shipped carry a 70 pounds minimum charge plus a $8.50 per box additional handling charge. Please read the FedEx shipping policy below carefully before ordering so you can get the most for your shipping dollar! You may enter the information for your order in the "get rate" page on the FedEx website, here:  https://www.fedex.com/ratefinder/home   OR, you can let us do the work! If you would like to approve shipping costs before anything is processed, just tell us in "comments" on the online order form. You can also place orders by telephone during our office hours, (see the top right corner of any page on our entire website) and get an instant quote.

FedEx charges are based on three classes of packages, depending on length and girth. If package is not over 60 inches long (fiberglass can be up to 58 inches long) and length plus girth is less than 130 inches, the package ships at a rate based on its actual weight.

If package length plus girth is over 84 inches (maximum length of fiberglass is 68 inches) and length plus girth is less than 130 inches, the package is classed as "Oversize 1", and ships at a 30 pound minimum rate (or actual rate if weight is over 30 pounds) PLUS a $8.50 per package "additional handling" charge. If package length plus girth exceeds 108 inches (and all of our packages that contain our full-length 8 foot long fiberglass fall into this class), the package is classed as "Oversize 2", and ships at a 70 pound minimum rate, (or actual rate if weight is over 70 pounds) PLUS a $8.50 per package "additional handling" charge.

To get maximum benefit for your FedEx shipping dollar (if shipping goods longer than 58 inches), we recommend shipping packages weighing at least as much as these minimum charges....combine orders with friends...order all the product you might possibly need at the same time.

We do cut fiberglass, if you wish, at a small charge . For details, as well as some useful cutting notes, CLICK HERE .

Find your Zone from the Zone Chart. Refer to the FedEx ground time-in-transit map at the bottom of this page to see the approximate days of shipping transit time via FedEx ground.

To determine time in transit to your location, refer to the FedEx Ground time in transit map at the bottom of this page. Remember that time is based on "work-days", and does not include Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.  Note: FedEx delivers to residential addresses on Saturdays for no additional charge. They do not deliver to residences on Mondays.

Duties, customs charges, VAT, and / or brokerages fees , (if any might apply for your country) are impossible for the shipper to determine, and are ALWAYS the responsibility of the purchaser. International customers agree to pay any and all additional charges that may be billed to cover these items.

FUEL ADJUSTMENT SURCHARGE: FedEx is now charging several additional add-on fees in addition to the base rates. Most of these fees are location specific. Applicable to all orders, a variable "fuel adjustment surcharge", typically adjusted monthly, is assessed in order to recover increased fuel costs. This fuel adjustment surcharge is a small percentage which is added to the "per pound" rates. Residential addresses will also incur a "residential delivery surcharge". Deliveries to rural areas may also incur a "delivery area surcharge".  The variability of these other charges make exact shipping quotes by table impossible, especially for rural residential deliveries. If you would like an exact shipping quote prior to ordering, just ask, and we will be happy to calculate it for you.

For oversize goods up to 8 feet long, the flat-rate shipping charge, including the "additional handling charge" (for up to 70 pounds, boxed in a single box) to your zone (as determined by the table above) is shown here:

Zone 2:  $24.90 Zone 4:  $31.35 Zone 3:  $28.05 Zone 5:  $36.75
Zone 6:  $43.95 Zone 7:  $51.15 Zone 8:  $59.80

Our customers have told us that the following terms have legitimately helped them find us, and the products that we index and sell on this page. If you have an idea of another term you were looking for where that need would be legitimately satisfied by goods indexed or found on this page only, please let us know.     Please be very selective in suggesting additional terms for this section. We want potential customers to be able to quickly and easily find us, but under no circumstances do we want to “spam” anyone with unrelated search results!
