Hexbeam Kit
The hexbeam has been one of the most popular new antenna designs for amateur radio use in many years. An excellent performer, light, with a small turning radius and a relatively low visibility profile, this antenna lends itself to the "build-your-own" enthusiast. This page makes obtaining the needed fiberglass to build your own hexbeam an easy task, and also seeks to make the task of finding design and construction notes far easier, too! Due to large volume purchases, we are able to offer these items at less cost than ordering them directly from "The Wireman". The rope is 85 feet of "The Wireman's" 3/32 inch OD black Dacron. According to Steve, G3TXQ, this length should be the required length plus 10% margin. This rope is very durable, and very strong for its size, as well as very light weight. This item adds one pound shipping weight to your order, including packaging. Order as our stock # HEXROPE 1 The wire is 275 feet of "The Wireman's" # 519 silky. This wire is 16 gauge, tinned, finely stranded copper. Very flexible but very strong. According to Steve, G3TXQ, this length is the required amount for either version, plus a 10% margin. This item adds 3 pounds to the shipping weight of your order, including packaging. Order as our stock # HEXWIRE 1 These items may be ordered individually, or with the HEXKIT 1, described above. Note that ordering these items with the HEXKIT 1 will slightly increase the shipping weight of your order, and will slightly affect the shipping costs quoted below for the fiberglass "HEXKIT 1" below. To compute your total cost (applies to customers in the 48 contiguous US states), including ground shipping, add only a $2.00 packing charge, and the following ground shipping charge to your zone.
