Flanges are required for mounting certain types of vacuum capacitors, both variable and fixed. See item descriptions regarding required flanges, if any. We have available large inventories of spare parts for vacuum capacitors, including pullers, shafts, bearings, flanges, etc., even for obsolete types! We offer hipot testing and diagnostic services, (to 60,000 volts) and in some select cases, we can perform repairs and restore "sick" capacitors.

Comet CV05C-650N/5 The Comet CV05C-650N/5 ceramic vacuum capacitor is rated 8-650 pf, 5 kv peak, and 63 amps RMS maximum current. New format Comet part number is CVDU-650CC/5-DEF. Diameter is 46 mm, Length is 114.3 mm, and weight is .4 kg. (.88 pound) Slotted shaft is 1/4 inch diameter. Very compact, furnished with integral 4-hole front flange, and threaded rear bolt for easy mounting. Condition is removed from equipment / checked, excellent. Satisfaction fully guaranteed. Jennings CVDD-1000-10D2365 Jennings CVDD-1000-10D2365 ceramic vacuum variable capacitor. Shaft diameter 1/4 inch. Approx. 24 turns for full travel. Rated 25-1000 pf, 10 kv peak. 140 amps max RMS at 4.5 Mhz. Length is 8 inches overall, 5.75 inches long shoulder to shoulder. 4.56 inches max diameter. Weight is 7 pounds. Jennings CVCJ-1000-3D2363

The Jennings CVCJ-1000-3D2363 has a range of 7-1000 pf, and is rated at 3 kv peak. Maximum current is 60 amps at 5 mhz. Weight is 2 pounds, 12 ounces. Diameter is 3.07 inches, length overall, including the 1/4" diameter shaft, is 7.5 inches. Approximately 22 turns for full travel. Shown with the Jennings type FM-2 front flange mount, which is NOT included.  Hipot tested, and fully guaranteed.

This model has a front neck diameter of 2.137 inches, and the FM-2 flange will NOT fit. Instead, this model was designed for the front shoulder (the flat end closest to the blue “puller”) to be mounted through a panel or bulkhead by means of three drilled and tapped holes to accommodate mounting screws. The puller would then be mounted on the other side of the panel, with the shaft extending through the panel to operate the capacitor. (Panel would also be drilled with a center hole to accommodate the brass center piston of the capacitor.) With purchase of capacitor and puller, we can furnish a front aluminum L-bracket to take the place of a panel, AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE (just request it in “comments”). The rear FM1C flange is highly recommended, and is available at a small additional cost as shown above. Jennings UCSXF-1000-15S

The Jennings UCSXF-1000-15S vacuum variable capacitor is rated at 12-1000 pf, 15 kv peak, and 70 amps maximum continuous RMS.

The shaft is 1/2 inch diameter, and requires 40 turns for full travel. Maximum diameter is 4.31 inches, and overall length is 9.937 inches.

Weight is 4 pounds. Requires FM3B front flange, and FM2B rear flange, not included, but available at additional cost.  We frequently have these capacitors in stock, as well as several very similar types with 700 pf maximum, 1200 pf, maximum, 1500 pf maximum, or 2000 pf maximum, at peak voltage ratings of from 7.5 kv to 15 kv. "Out of spec" and "budget" capacitors:  If you want the quality and performance of vacuum capacitors, but the budget just won't allow it, (or if you are just looking to save some money) we frequently have "out of spec" capacitors . These capacitors do not meet the specifications for the particular model . This can happen because of many reasons, but they are still perfectly usable in other capacitance ranges or maximum voltages . For instance, we might have a type that is listed at 15 kv, but tests good to 12 kv .  In this case, we will not sell it to a user who needs 15 kv ratings, but if you need only 5 kv, 7 . 5 kv, or 10 kv, this capacitor would do nicely .  If you want us to check our "out of spec" shelves for current stock, just tell us your capacitance range and voltage requirements (and current rating if you know it . . . or approximate power level) and we will let you know what we have available at steep discounts!

"SCRATCH AND DENT" We also frequently have in stock many vacuum capacitors which have cosmetic blemishes such as dents, which would not meet our high standards for regular sale, but which still check good, both in range, and in their ability to withstand voltage .

Some dents will damage or totally destroy a capacitor . Others, if they occur in just the right places, cause no harm at all . We have the knowledge and test capability to make these determinations, and if they pass our stringent testing, sell these units at discounted prices with our regular guarantee! If interested in these units, please inquire as to current availability .
