Centralab type 855, ceramic capacitors with axial leads

These Centralab ceramic transmitting capacitors are rated 2 pf, and 5 kv. They are NPO types (temperature compensated) for high stability. Removed from military equipment, with fairly long leads (see photo), most of which also have Teflon insulating sleeves still in place on the leads. Excellent condition.

 Glass Piston Capacitors, (variable)

We have a large supply of these brand-new, mil-spec, adjustable glass piston capacitors.  Samples tuned from  1.1 pf to 10.2 pf, and on our hipot testers, 100% of samples withstood 5,000 volts plus. These are an EXCELLENT high voltage trimmer capacitor. Made under military contract by JFD Electronics Co., and are referred to as part #  118145-3.  Individual units are imprinted with  JFD VC12432C.  These were assigned a national stock number (NSN) of 5910-00-575-8838.  Measurements are 7/8 inches long overall.  Body diameter is ¼ inch, not including the two tinned connection solder tabs.  Supplied complete with chassis mounting nut.  Adjust these capacitors by means if a small, flat-blade screwdriver. Use a fully insulated adjusting tool if adjusting while subjected to voltage! Vitramon capacitors

We have a good selection of values of these ceramic Vitramon capacitors for sale . While we cannot find much data on these caps, they seem to be rated by the manufacturer at about 2 kv .  We have tested quite a few, and they hipot MUCH higher . . . some as high as 20 kv (!), then they flash internally, and they are dead .

Unlike other types, once they fail hipot, they are gone for good, even with current limited very low . The good part is that it takes a great deal of voltage to fail hipot!

Customers who have purchased these in the past for antenna uses and other purposes have been extremely pleased, and have consistently reordered . Ceramic body measures about 1/2 inch X 3/8 inch X 5/32 inch thick . Stripline tabs may be as long as those pictured, (most are)  or may be shorter (these are removed from military equipment) but will always be long enough for easy soldering .

Encapsulated paralleled capacitors

We have these two values of encapsulated ceramic capacitors, removed from military equipment. We are not certain of type, but they seem to be very similar to Vitramon types in the way they act and in the way they were used in equipment. Each block has two capacitors paralleled to yield these values   blockcap1: 700 pf, tested good to 8 kv or higher  (measures 1.125 inches tall X ½ inch wide)    blockcap2:  3500 pf, tested good to 5 kv or higher (measures 1.125 inch tall X 1 inch wide)

Since these blocks are made up of two paralleled capacitors, the current rating will be double that of each individual capacitor. The encapsulation is a very tough, slightly flexible material, making these units almost impervious to environmental moisture. The bottom of each block is a small metal plate with two drilled and tapped holes for easy mounting to a chassis.  (Foreign customers: mating screws are available at 6 for $1.00 additional. Just request when ordering. )  The top of each block has the two axial leads paralleled, soldered to a small ribbon conductor.

Feedthrough Capacitors

New item!  5000 pf, 1 kv feedthrough capacitors                                

We have obtained a large supply (THOUSANDS available) of these 5000 pf silver-plated, mil-spec feedthrough capacitors. These were carefully removed from military equipment (most of the equipment was brand new / unused) and are supplied complete with chassis mounting nuts and full length terminal leads. While we do not know the manufacturer's voltage rating on these capacitors, we have hipot tested multiple samples, and they consistently hipot to higher than 1,000 volts.  Length is 7/8 overall, including leads. Maximum diameter is 1/4 inch.
