RF Amplifiers and Antenna Couplers
Broad Band RF Power Amplifier Assembly from TN-612 We have a large supply of the front panels removed from the TN-612 "pre/post selector" which was part of the GRC-215 system, also known as Regency net. These front panels include the broadband RF amplifier section. The pre-post selector was designed to cover from 1.6 to 24 mhz. The super high quality amplifier consists of a single S15-28 tr ansistor, that drives a pair of MRF-466 tr ansistors. These tr ansistors operate on 28 vdc. The amplifier was originally used to produce less than 10 watts of drive for the final of the GRC-215. The amplifier should be capable of well more power output with minor changes. The S15-28 tr ansistor is rated at 15 watts out with .5 watts drive. The finals (MRF-466 X 2) are rated at 40 watts each (80 watts total) with 1.25 watts drive each. The heatsink is probably not sufficient for this higher level of output unless external forced air cooling or additional heatsinking is added. A limited amount of additional "reverse engineering" information is supplied with purchase of these units at no charge. We will also supply the mating plug-in connectors that originally supplied power and signal to this assembly at no additional charge as long as supplies last.
